Monday, 24th Nov 2014, 4:23 PM IST Tehelka magazine’s former editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal's children Karan and Tiya are all set to make their directorial debut. They are currently at the National Film Development Corporation's Film Bazaar in Goa, enhancing the script of their directorial debut. They are making a movie based on Khushwant Singh's novel, ‘The Sunset Club’. Tiya has worked as production designer for films like ‘Life Of Pi’ and ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’. And Karan has worked as an assistant director with Rajkumar Hirani and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Talking about the film, Tiya said, "We have jointly written the script and it's quite different from the source material. We have interpreted the story in a completely different manner. The mentors at NFDC Screenwriter's Lab have gone through it and the screenplay looks even better now." Talking about the story of the film, she said, "Our story is about these three people who are older than the country. It's a commentary on the state of contemporary India and its politics told through the lens of the trio". Karan said, "It was purely on a whim that we decided to send our script to NFDC. The two of us will co-direct the film, which should go on the floors mid-2015. It will be shot mostly in Delhi."
