NEERJA Crosses Fantastic 71 Cr Nett Over 4th Weekend

''''Neerja'''' released and it was making news for quite some time for its inspiring subject. Film dominated box office over weekend riding on great reviews and steamrolled other films.

''''Neerja'''' released across 700 screens in India. Film had multiplex urban appeal and it will find tough to score among masses/single screens. Film had good pre release buzz and awareness along with glowing reviews. Film opened to 20-25% occupancy with best figures in Bangalore, Pune and Chandigarh. Film improved big time from evening onwards on day one and collected 4.70 cr nett.

As we predicted, film grew drastically by 70% on Saturday and collected 7.60 cr nett. Film witnessed jump across the board and even outside metro it did pretty well. Film was equally strong on Sunday and jumped again by 25%. Film collected 9.71 cr nett on Sunday. Film held very well on Monday and collected 3.70 cr nett followed by 3.41 cr nett on Tuesday, 3.14 cr nett on Wednesday and 3.06 cr nett on Thursday.

Film collected 35.32 cr nett in week one. Tax free status in Gujarat and Maharashtra helping the film in big way and now film is tax free in Delhi and UP too. Film dominated all new releases and collected 3.15 cr nett on 2nd Friday. Film jumped on Saturday by  55% and collected 5 cr nett despite big cricket match yesterday. Film collected 6.65 cr nett on Sunday and crossed 14.80 cr nett in 2nd weekend.

Film will cross 25 cr nett in 2nd week. Film dropped marginally on Monday and collected 2.12 cr nett followed by 1.90 cr nett on Tuesday, 1.85 cr nett on Wednesday and 1.76 cr nett on Thursday. Film crossed 22.43 cr nett in 2nd week which is a fantastic result with just 33% drop.

Film witnessed its first major drop on 3rd Friday and collected 1.28 cr nett. Film grew marginally on 3rd Saturday and collected 2.20 cr nett followed by 2.69 cr nett on Sunday as cricket match affected from evening onwards. Film collected 6.10 cr nett over 3rd weekend. Film held well on 3rd Monday and collected 1.45 cr nett which was better than 3rd Friday. Film collected 90 lakhs nett on Tuesday, 81 lakhs nett on Wednesday and 70 lakhs nett on Thursday.

Film collected 10.03 cr nett in 3rd week which was good considering competition but film got huge push due to tax free status as these are practically gross collections. Film collected 65 lakhs nett on 4th Friday and 1.30 cr nett on 4th Saturday followed by 1.50 cr net ton Sunday. Film has collected 3.45 cr nett over 4th weekend and it should cross 5.75 - 6 cr nett in 4th week.

Film has 24 days total of 71.10 cr nett and it has higher business than ''Kahaani'' and ''Queen''. Film is helped by tax free status and loop side performance where it scored heavily in Mumbai and Delhi but not in other centers.

Film is already a hit and it is heading for 75 cr nett lifetime total. Film did solid business in overseas too with 1.5 million $ over weekend, 2.1 million $ in 10 days and 3.69 million $ in 18 days . Film has now 100 cr plus worldwide gross. This one has broken dry spell at box office for Fox Star Studios and Sonam Kapoor as lead actress. Hit!
