Saturday, 9th May 2015, 2:37 PM IST Writer-director Nitin Adsul’s maiden venture, Marathi flick ‘Partu’ is produced by a Hollywood production house. American producers Clark McMillian and Darrel Cox have invested in the film. Talking about it, Nitin said, "‘Partu’ will be the first Marathi film to be funded by a Hollywood production house, East West Films." The film tells the story of a seven-year-old Prithvi who moves from Rajasthan to Mumbai in 1968. While coming to Mumbai he gets separated from his uncle, Prem and is adopted by a poor Marathi farmer, Lakshman. "Since it's a Hollywood product now, we are using modern production and editing techniques for the desert sequences," he said. The music is composed by Shashank Powar and Shankar Mahadevan has sung the title song, ‘Kon kuthla’. Nitin said, "There's a beautiful lavani performed by Megha Ghadge but the highlight of the film is the background music by Greg Sims, the award-winning American composer who has composed the background music and promos for The Oprah Winfrey Show from 2005 to 2011 and won the prestigious 'Seal Of Excellence' in 2013." ‘Partu’ will hit the screens in the US and India simultaneously. "It is a story that will touch your heart," Nitin said. The film might release in November this year.
