Tuesday, 22nd Sept 2015, 9:40 PM IST Music Composers: Meet Bros Anjjan, Amaal Mallik Lyrics: Kumaar Madhur Bhandarkar is back with a realistic film and this time he has decided to showcase the life of calendar models. The movie is titled as ‘Calendar Girls’ and marks the debut of five new actresses - Akanksha Puri, Avani Modi, Satarupa Pyne, Ruhi Singh and Kyra Dutt. The movie will be releasing on 25th Sept and the music of the film is out. So, let’s see what’s there in store for us. The album starts with the track ‘Awesome Mora Mahiya’. In the track there’s a line which states, “Dance Dance Baby Dance Along, On the Party Party Party Song” and believe us this track is one of the pathetic party tracks of the year. The music is horrible and while listening to the track it seems like you are hearing a number from a B-grade film. Meet Bros Anjjan shock us with this number. Khushboo Grewal’s voice is strictly okay in the track. Ratings: 1/5 The next song in the album is ‘We Will Rock The World’. This one too is not that great, but is better than the previous one. At least it doesn’t give us that feeling of a B-grade song. The music is peppy and Neha Kakkar and Khushboo Grewal’s vocals do justice to the track. Ratings: 2/5 After two high-on tempo numbers, the next track in the album is ‘Khwaishein’. It’s a soulful number with a rock music touch to it. Composed by Amaal Mallik, the song impresses us and the lyrics touch our hearts. Arijit Singh’s voice is just fantastic in the track. There is another version of the number which is equally good and Armaan Malik has sung it wonderfully. Ratings: 3.5/5 The last song in the album is ‘Shaadi Wali Night’. It’s a nice foot-tapping number, but of course it’s not the perfect wedding track. However, Amaal Mallik does a decent job with the music by using the desi beats with a classy touch. Aditi Singh Sharma has sung the song fantastically. Ratings: 3/5 Overall; music album of ‘Calendar Girls’ is strictly mediocre with a few good songs and a few pathetic ones.
