Pahlaj Nihalani Defends Censor’s Decision, Udta Punjab Producers Move Bombay High Court

Wednesday, 8th June 2016, 06:00 PM IST In a recent interview, Pahlaj Nihalani defended board’s decision and suggested the producers to knock the doors of the courts. ‘Udta Punjab’s producers have decided to move Bombay High Court. The producers have filed a petition with Bombay High Court seeking Censor Board’s order which suggested 89 cuts in the movie and removal of reference to Punjab in the movie. In the interview, the board chief was even asked if they were biased against ‘Udta Punjab’. To this, Nihalani said that he had only followed guidelines given by the government and he has no grudges with the producer, Anurag Kashyap. The petition said that producers have not yet been given a copy of the order by the Censor Board. Petition also mentioned that unless they had a copy of board’s order with them, how they could proceed in the matter to take further legal actions. The latest we hear is, the matter has been adjourned till tomorrow by the Bombay High Court.
