Saturday, 12th July 2014, 04:30 PM IST Readers may remember reports about director Shakun Batra helming a film for producer Karan Johar, about two author siblings living in a hill station. However, Karan has apparently put the film on the backburner.
The reason behind this development is that the makers of the film could not find the perfect cast for the film. They were earlier planning to cast Imran Khan and Farhan Akhtar as the literary siblings but it did not work out. Later, Sidharth Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapoor’s names were being thrown in, but the film did not take off.
It is now official that the film has been pushed ahead. A source close to the development informed, “Both Karan and Shakun were extremely pleased with the way the earlier film's script had shaped up. However, they were finding it difficult to cast the right actors. Shakun has now moved on to a comedy.” Shakun confirmed the news saying, “Karan and I have decided to only make the film if we can cast it right. It needs an ensemble cast and I'm very attached to it. I'd rather make it as my third film. I'm already developing another story.” |
