ACTION JACKSON Had Below Par Day One
Last month proved to be a disappointment for films at box office. 'The Shaukeens', 'Happy Ending', 'Ungli' and 'Kill Dil' failed miserably at box office and now last month of the year started with huge film 'Action Jackson' which is directed by Prabhu Dheva with 100% box office record.
Film released in approx 3400 screens and it was expected to take a huge start. But film was poor in big cities Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune especially in multiplexes but film is doing better in single screens in Lucknow, Indore, Patna and Jaipur. Overall single screen occupancy was clsoe to 50% but multiplex are struggling with 20%.
Film was a wider release and that is why it was expected to get some kind of growth from evening onwards but bad reviews affected the film. Fpr example, after decent start in morning a territory like Rajasthan ended day with only 66 lakhs nett and CI was close to 51 lakhs nett. It means that film is losing the grip on day one itself which is not a good reflection for days to come.
As per early estimates, film should collect close to 9.50 cr nett on day one which is quite less in compare to what was expected especially after landing cost of 90 cr. Only a miracle can save film from here as it seems that it will drop tomorrow or will be in same range like today at best. Tough times ahead!
