PK Closes 200 Cr Nett On 8 Days
2014 proved to be a bad year at box office for Hindi film industry and after disastrous November and half of December, Aamir Khan starrer 'PK' was the only hope for survival for exhibitors. But film scored big week and now film is on the way to become highest grosser in history of Bollywood.
Film has collected 183.31 cr nett in week one which was outstanding number and this is 2nd highest week one number after 'Dhoom 3'. Film scored big numbers in Mumbai and that is why despite low Friday film managed to cross all other releases.
Film started yesterday on similar note but there was drop in Rajasthan, Gujarat and NCR. This was normal 2nd Friday trend but film never grew in single screens and mass areas. There was drop in UP, Gujarat and Bihar. Film collected 85 lakhs nett in Rajasthan and there was similar trend in other territories.
Film collected 14.44 cr nett on day eight which was super number and now film is set for first ever 50 cr nett 2nd weekend of Bollywood. Film has collected 197 cr nett plus in 8 days and it will cross 200 cr nett today. Film has such a solid trend and empty period that now 290-300 cr nett looks almost certain.
Film also collected 79 cr in week one in overseas and it seems that film will cross 100 cr there too by the end of 2nd weekend as film will get boost from Christmas holidays.
