PK Scores Super Solid Monday
2014 proved to be a bad year at box office for Hindi film industry and after disastrous November and half of December, Aamir Khan starrer ''''PK'''' was the only hope for survival for exhibitors. But film scored big Sunday and thus film had fairly good weekend. And yes on Monday film has taken a solid start.
Film has collected 26.63 cr nett on day one which was fair number but considering hype, cast and expectations this is strictly good. Film needed big jump in next two days but except urban centers and metros, mass centers are lagging behind.
Film started yesterday on similar note but there was 20% drop in Rajasthan, 45% in Gujarat and 30% in NCR. This was normal Saturday trend but film never grew in single screens and mass areas. There was drop in UP, Gujarat and Bihar. Overall multiplex growth managed to subside it but verdict is emerging clear. Film collected 30.34 cr nett on day two which was good but not great.
Film took an almost unbelievable start on Sunday and film was running to capacity in metros all over. Yesterday was a huge day for the film and it had close to 70% occupancy all over which took numbers around 38.24 cr nett with circuit records in many territories.
Film had 93.37 cr nett over weekend and today again film took a solid start at box office. Film was strong in Mumbai, Rajasthan, NCR and Mysore where drops are less than 25%. As per distributor Gaurav Gaur from Rajasthan, film collected 1.18 cr nett today which was just 20% drop from Monday.
Film collected 21.22 cr nett on Monday which was a super result. Today film started even better and going by the trends, film should collect 10% more than yesterday. Film has total of 116.43 cr nett in 4 days and should cross 180 cr nett in week one. Blockbuster!
