ACTION JACKSON Finishes With Below Par Lifetime Total
Last month proved to be a disappointment for films at box office. ''The Shaukeens'', ''Happy Ending'', ''Ungli'' and ''Kill Dil'' failed miserably at box office and now last month of the year started with huge film ''Action Jackson'' which is directed by Prabhu Dheva with 100% box office record. But film performed badly in week one and writing was on the wall.
Film released in approx 3400 screens and it was expected to take a huge start. But film was poor in big cities and despite good contribution from single screens, film managed very poor total of 48 cr nett in week one which should have been the 4 day total ideally for the film.
Film was a wider release and that is why it was expected to score but after poor week one, film was expected to drop in 2nd week. And that is what happened as film dropped big on 2nd Friday. Film collected 1.70 cr nett on 2nd Friday which was almost 80% drop from 1st Friday. On expected lines, film grew by 18% on Saturday and collected 2.40 cr nett and on Sunday film added 3 cr nett.
Film collected 80 lakhs nett on 2nd Monday with more than 50% from drop from 2nd Friday followed by 70 lakhs nett on 2nd Tuesday, 60 lakhs nett on 2nd Wednesday and 55 lakhs nett on Thursday. Film collected 57.10 cr nett in 14 days and thus all hopes gone for toss of big collection.
Film is heading for 59-60 cr nett lifetime. Big disappointment! Film also collected poor numbers of 8.91 cr in overseas over week one. Film will have worldwide share of 35 cr which is huge loss making proposition for distributors and makers.
