In last few weeks, box office saw many clashes of small proportion like ''Daawat E Ishq'' and ''Khoobsurat''. Now there is clash of contrasting films in terms of genre, cast and budget on 2nd October. ''Bang Bang'' is full blown masala film made on lavish budget of 140 cr and ''Haider'' is small niche cinema made on shoe string budget.
Though ''Bang Bang'' will lead in terms of sheer release size itself across 3400 screens against 1200 of ''Haider'' but for a big release like ''Bang Bang'' it is tough to score huge numbers like 35-38 cr nett on day one after loss of chunk of screen to other release. On top of that the whole screen war resulted in no advance booking in many centers across numerous cinemas.
Going by advance booking trends, ''Bang Bang'' is clearly the leader but it is no where close to extraordinary like ''Kick''. But the long holiday weekend will ensure big numbers despite strictly good advances. ''Bang Bang'' needs to score super solid numbers on weekdays otherwise sizable loss to ''Haider'' over weekend will not be compensated.
Going by the trends, it seems that ''Bang Bang'' will hover around 28-31 cr nett on day one and anything in excess will be a huge score. ''Haider'' will target to collect minimum 5-6 cr nett otherwise lower than that day one will make things really difficult for the film.
