Thursday, 14th Aug 2014, 6:50 PM IST ‘Tamanchey’ which was ready for release on September 19 has been delayed. The film was to be released in a week where five other films were vying for box-office gold. The makers of ‘Tamanchey’ felt there was not enough room for them to fit in, so they pulled out. A source said, “The film was supposed to release on September 19, but the makers realised that it will face tough competition since six films are hitting the big screen on the same day. The makers don’t want other films to eat into their share, so they now plan to push ahead their film’s release.” Of the six films, the list comprises of ‘Khoobsurat’, ‘Daawat-E-Ishq’, ‘Ugly’,‘Roar’ and ‘3 AM’. “With so many films releasing at the same time, it’s but obvious that getting screens will be a difficult task. These films will have to vie against each other and it gets all the more difficult if big films are up for release. So it makes sense for Tamanchey’s makers to shift the release date,” says the source. A source close to the film added, “We are now thinking about releasing the film in the last week of September.” Producer Suryaveer Singh confirmed the story. “Yes, we are looking at September 26 or October 10. We are meeting our distributors now, so we will finalise things accordingly.” |
