Saturday, 30th August 2014, 03:20 PM IST Director Vishal Bhardwaj wants to bring a moving theatre to Kashmir for screening his film ‘Haider’, adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’. ‘Haider’ stars Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, and has been shot in Kashmir.
The director has requested Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for permission to have special screenings of his film in the state. He said, “We have sent a proposal to Mr. Omar Abdullah because there are no working theatres in Kashmir and I really want Kashmiris to experience this film on a bigger screen.”
Vishal further added, “We are proposing a kind of moving theatre which can be set up in an outdoor location where Kashmiris can catch maybe one show a day once it's dark. I really hope the proposal gets accepted.”
Vishal has completed his Shakespearean trilogy with ‘Haider’, the earlier two films being ‘Maqbool’ adapted from ‘Macbeth’ and ‘Omkara’ an adaptation of ‘Othello’. |
