Tuesday, 10th Mar 2015, 12:52 PM IST Music Directors: Sanjeev Darshan, Bann Chakraborty, Ayush Shrestha, Savera Mehta, Samira Koppikar Lyricist: Kumaar, Bann Chakraborty, Abhiruchi Chand, Manoj Tapadia, Neeraj Rajawat, Varun Grover Anushka Sharma is all set for the release of her first production venture ‘NH10’. The movie, which also stars the actress in the lead role, will be hitting the screens on 13th March. The music of the film is out; however the film is not being promoted as a musical. So, let’s see what ‘NH10’ has in store for us. The album starts with a hard-hitting number ‘Chhil Gaye Naina’. The track has an intense feel and is high on energy. Kanika Kapoor and Dipanshu Pandit have sung the song superbly well. Kanika, who has only sung item numbers till date, has this time tried something different with ‘Chhil Gaye Naina’ and her voice impresses us very well. Kumaar’s lyrics are also excellent. Ratings: 3.5/5 After a hard-hitting track, next we get a simple song titled ‘Le Chal Mujhe’. Music composer Bann Chakraborty tries to get a vintage touch in the track, but he fails and the song becomes a bit boring. The lyrics written by Bann Chakraborty and Abhiruchi Chand are good. But the biggest disappointment in this song is Mohit Chauhan’s voice which is strictly okay. There are two other versions of this song – a female version sung by Shilpa Rao and a reprise version with Arijit Singh’s voice. The former is pathetic, Shilpa’s voice sounds too manly for this song while the latter is also not that great. Ratings: 1.5/5 Moving forward we get ‘Main Jo’, a feel good romantic number. It’s a sweet soulful song very well sung by Nayantara Bhatkal and Savera Mehta. Well, you will really wish to have a romantic dance with your loved one on this song. Ratings: 3/5 ‘Khoney De’, the next song in the album, is an irritating track. The music composer tries to get intense with this song, but it sounds like a background score of a horror movie. Mohit Chauhan and Neeti Mohan’s vocals are the only good thing about the song. There is also an instrumental version of the song which is also pathetic. Ratings: 1/5 Next comes in Samira Koppikar with her powerful voice in the song ‘Maati Ka Palang’. It’s a very good track with a touch of classical beats in it. Samira Koppikar has done a great job with the music and her voice is just perfect in the track. Neeraj Rajawat’s lyrics are also commendable. Ratings: 3.5/5 And the last song in the album is ‘Kya Karein’. It’s a very slow song and you really wish that it gets over soon. Rachel Varghese’s voice and Varun Grover’s lyrics fail to save this track. It seems like music composers Savera Mehta and Ayush Shrestha were hardly interested in composing this track. Ratings: 0.5/5 On the whole, music of ‘NH10’ has an intense feel, but it could have surely been better. Some songs are good, but some are a torture.
