Tuesday, 25th Aug 2015, 2:20 PM IST Music Composer: Pritam Lyricists: Kausar Munir, Amitabh Bhattacharya After tasting success this year with ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Kabir Khan is back with ‘Phantom’ which stars Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. The movie will be releasing on 28th Aug and the music of the film is out. So, let’s see what’s in store for us. The album starts with the song ‘Afghan Jalebi’. It’s a foot tapping track with a traditional Arabic touch in the music. The lyrics are impressive and very well explain Katrina’s character. While listening to the track you will surely feel that the tune is bit similar to the track ‘Pungi’. However, we can ignore this inspiration as the song really entertains us. Asrar has sung the track fantastically and makes it an amazing hearing experience. There are three more versions of the track. The Film Version is very similar to the original one. It is sung by Akhtar Channal and he does justice to the track with his voice. The Fitna Farebi version is more like a traditional Arabic number with a bit low tempo. It is sung by Nakash Aziz and his voice suits the track. And the last one is Dumbek Version which is once again quite entertaining with a perfect Arabian touch. All the versions of ‘Afghan Jalebi’ are impressive and entertaining. Ratings: 3.5/5 Next comes in a beautiful romantic number ‘Saware’. It’s a soulful number with amazing lyrics. This one successfully makes us feel the romance around us. Amitabh Bhattacharya has done a praiseworthy job with the lyrics. And above all is Arijit Singh’s wonderful voice which raises the bar of the number. Ratings: 3.5/5 And the last track in the album is ‘Nachda’. It is a decent number which fails to reach the level set by the previous tracks. This one too has an Arabic touch to it. Kausar Munir’s lyrics are excellent and effective. Shahid Mallya has done a great job with his voice and takes the song to a better level. Ratings: 2.5/5 On the whole, the music album of ‘Phantom’ gels well with the theme of the film.
