Monday, 16 June 2014, 03:30 PM IST Looks like Sajid Khan has taken inspiration from a Bengali song for his upcoming film Saif Ali Khan starter ‘Humshakals’. Music composer Rishi Chanda claims that a popular song from the movie titled ‘Caller tune’ is strikingly similar to a song that he composed for a Bengali film.
Confirming the news, Chanda said, “I will send a letter to Fox Star Studios and Vashu Bhagnani, as the tunes are very similar.” He further added, “I just started getting calls from Kolkata asking if I had composed the song, 'Caller Tune'. I then realised that it sounds like 'Soniye Tu Janiye Naa'. Having recently shifted to Mumbai, I am now pitching many of my Bangla compositions to Bollywood filmmakers. But if such things happen, it will become really difficult for me.”
The composer says that the makers of ‘Humshakals’ will have to give him credit for the song else he will file a case of copyright infringement against them. Producer of the film Vashu Bhagnani said, “I haven't received any letter. As per the new copyright law, these complaints should be addressed to the creator of the song.” The music for the film has been given by Himesh Reshammiya and Sajid-Wajid. |
