Friday, 2nd Jan 2015, 1:38 PM IST Music always plays an important part in the success of a film. And 2014 is a perfect example for the statement. There were many films that became successful all thanks to the great music they had. And here we come up with best Bollywood music albums of 2014. 1) ‘Ek Villain’: We had no expectations from ‘Ek Villain’. But, surprisingly the movie had some of the best songs of the year. From ‘Galliyan’ to ‘Awari’, each and every song of the film was just amazing. Hats off to music directors Ankit Tiwari, Mithoon, Rabbi Ahmed and Adnan Dhool for such a great work. 2) ‘Kick’: While music of Salman Khan’s ‘Jai Ho’ was disappointing, the music of Salman starrer ‘Kick’ was fantastic. Be it a romantic track or a dance number, Himesh Reshammiya gave the film superb evergreen tracks. 2014 was indeed a great year for Himesh, as not only his music in ‘Kick’, but also his music in films like ‘The Xpose’ and ‘Action Jackson’ garnered love and appreciation from all quarters. 3) ‘Happy New Year’: Though ‘Happy New Year’ received not-so-flattering reviews for its storyline, one thing that was appreciated by the audience as well as the critics was the album of the film which was a beautiful mixed bag. As it was a musical heist film, Vishal Shekhar smartly rendered music that suits the film well. ‘Lovely’ and ‘Manwa Laage’ were the most praised songs of the album. 4) ‘Yaariyan’: Cinematically, ‘Yaariyan’ was surely one of the worst films of the year 2014. The movie had bad story, horrible direction and amateur actors. But, one thing that impressed everyone in the film was its music. Pritam, Mithoon, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Arko Pravo Mukherjee and Anupam Amod did a fantastic job in the music department. The music was the only factor that helped the film to be successful at the box-office. 5) ‘RaginiMMS 2’: ‘Ragini MMS 2’ surely deserves to be in the list. The music of the film helped the movie grab the attention of moviegoers. All the music directors including Meet Bros Anjjan, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Pranay Rijia and Chirantan Bhatt did a good job with the music. ‘Baby Doll’ and ‘Chaar Botal Vodka’ are still ruling everyone’s hearts.
