ALONE Has No Chills And You Need Pills After Watching It
Pluses:
Karan puts an honest act, couple of good songs
Minuses:
cliche writing, direction lacks intention, laughable performances by supporting cast
Critic Rating: 1/5
Business Rating: 2/5
Verdict:
Watch it for routine cliche horror film experience
Detailed Analysis:
Bipasha Basu stars in one horror film every quarter and still she gets to act in one after debacle of 'Aatma', and 'Creature'.
Film is remake of Thai horror flick. Two conjoint twins Anjana and Sanjana (both played by Bipasha Basu) fell in love with same guy Kabir (Karan Singh Grover). He left for London for higher studies and comes back after 10 years but sisters fight for this guy. We do not know which sister is ghost and who is married to Kabir and that is the suspense in the end. Kabir and Snajana are well settled in Mumbai but they rush back to haunted house in Kerala as her mother (Neena Gupta) meets with a fatal accident. Now how this couple fights with the ghost and there is one 'tantrik' and psychologist to help them. Performance wise Bipasha Basu goes on with the flow and she seems to be confused between 'Creature', 'Aatma' and this one. She really needs reinvent her now. Karan delivers an honest performance but he is letdown by poorly written role and bad diction. Zakir Hussain and other supporting cast make you laugh unintentionally. Film has couple of good songs but in such a tepid affair songs do not leave any mark. Editing is poor and cinematography is average. Background score is pathetic and makes things worse for audience. Story was good but poor dialogues and screenplay spoil the game. Art department and costume department are fairly good.
Director Bhushan Patel directed two successful sequels but this time he fails miserably as typical combo of horror and sex falls flat. Old formulas and poor performances let him down. Film released today and will get 1000 screens which will enough for such film. Film has chances at box office as there is so much competition but no big film is there. And such films do find audience in smaller centers but will they turn up to watch another Bipasha starrer, is the million dollar question.
Go for this one if you can watch any horror film!
