Trailer Review: SHAMITABH’s Trailer Is Unique, But Fails To Entertain
| ||||
Thursday, 8th Jan 2015, 12:23 PM IST Director R Balki and megastar Amitabh Bachchan have earlier worked in films like ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Paa’. And now, for the third time they have collaborated for the film ‘Shamitabh’. The movie also stars Dhanush and Akshara Haasan. The trailer of the film was recently launched. Like his previous films, Balki has come up with a unique concept this time as well. The movie is about a mute superstar played by Dhanush and an old man giving him his voice; and the conflict for credit starts between the two. While the concept seems to be impressive, the trailer fails to entertain. The trailer is unique but the makers fail to make it interesting. Performance wise of course Amitabh Bachchan grabs the attention. Few scenes in the trailer will remind you of Amitabh Bachchan’s previous films like ‘Hum’, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, etc. Dhanush proved his acting prowess with ‘Raanjhanaa’ and he is back with one more interesting role. Akshara Haasan looks beautiful, but hardly gets any footage in the trailer. The music of the film is strictly average and old-fashioned. On the whole, the trailer of ‘Shamitabh’ is unique, but fails to entertain.
