Wednesday, 18th Mar 2015, 5:40 PM IST The trial of Salman Khan’s hit-and-run case was a kind of a court room drama on Tuesday. It is said that apart from the prosecution and defence lawyers objecting each other’s points, a heated argument took place between a retired senior police officer and defence lawyer. The defence lawyer wanted the witness to look into the copy of Bombay Police Manual and answer a few questions, but the police officer said that he would only answer if he was given an original copy to look into. He refused to touch the photocopies. And this started an argument between lawyer and the witness. The judge had to interfere to calm them down. Salman’s lawyer, Shrikant Shivde requested the Sessions judge for a re-examination of Rajendra Kadam, the first investigating officer in the case. However, the public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat objected to the application, but Judge D.W. Deshpande asked Shivde to file his written reply on the next date.
