Saturday, 11th Oct 2014, 5:11 PM IST Lara Duta’s pet project, ‘Chalo China’, the sequel to her maiden home production ‘Chalo Dilli’, seems to be facing a major financial crisis. In fact, the situation is so bad that the project might get delayed till the producers are able to find alternative sources of finance.
The film which was supposed to have gone on floors in April 2015, with Lara and Vinay Pathak as the main characters, is delayed indefinitely. The shooting schedules that were planned in multiple countries, including Thailand, Malaysia and China, have gone haywire.
Apparently, Lara and Mahesh are also planning to produce a cookery show on TV, which is another reason for the film’s delay.
‘Khoobsurat’ director Shashanka Ghosh has replaced Shashant Shah as director for ‘Chalo China’. The film is expected to have a start-to-finish fast-track shoot once it goes on floors, and will be jointly produced by Lara’s Bheegi Basanti Entertainment, Mahesh’s Big Daddy Productions and Eros. |
