Saturday, 4th Oct 2014, 1:45 PM IST Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Haider’, which has been shot in Kashmir has hit the screens in India, but it is learnt that the film might be banned in Pakistan due to some objectionable scenes in the movie. Helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the movie is set against the backdrop of Kashmir in 1995, when militancy was at its peak. Reportedly, ‘Haider’ may not get the No Objection Certificate by the censor board of Pakistan. According to the sources, the film was previewed and sent to the censor board for consent. But, after watching the movie they decided not to screen it because of some controversial components related to Kashmir. Zareef Abbasi, the spokesperson of Central Board of Film Censors in Pakistan, said ‘Haider’ has not been showcased to them yet. He said,"The question of banning any film or allowing its screening arises after it is presented to the board." Hrithik starrer ‘Bang Bang’ has been given screens in Pakistan, there is no information about the screening of ‘Haider’. It is said that the distributors out there knew that ‘Haider’ may not be released in Pakistan. |
