Wednesday, 15th Oct 2014, 1:08 PM IST Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Mardaani’ got a lot of appreciation from the critics as well as from the audiences. However, the makers were not happy that the movie had got an ‘A’ certificate, but the film has now been cleared with a ‘U/A’ for viewing on TV. It is said that some members of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) thought that the adult content was not suitable for the TV viewers. And because of this difference of opinion, the Rani Mukerji starrer was sent to revisiting committee of Board, which gave it a ‘U/A’ certificate with a cut. Nandini Sardesai, of the revising committee, confirmed the news and said, "We have cleared the film with a ‘U/A’ certificate and have asked them to tone down a nude scene by about 50 per cent." ‘Mardaani’ tackled the issue of child sex trafficking and the makers were trying to even get a ‘U/A’ certificate for the theatrical release of the film, but they had to release the movie with an ‘A’ certificate.
