Friday, 3rd Oct 2014, 3:21 PM IST Actress Konkona Sen Sharma, who has impressed us with her acting skills, will be now turning a director with the film ‘Death In A Gunj’. The script of the film has been selected by the NFDC Script Lab. A source close said,"It's called ‘Death In A Gunj’ and is a coming-of-age drama that goes dangerously wrong. It was short listed from over 80 entries received by NFDC this year." The workshops will start on October 12th in Pune where Konkona, and other nine other participants, will develop their screenplays. And to help them, there will be three mentors, including actor-director Rajat Kapoor. Earlier, Ritesh Batra's ‘The Lunchbox’ and Kanu Behl's ‘Titli’ were the films which were developed by NFDC. Konkona confirmed the news and said, "I am excited about this programme and have been tire lessly working on this script. I've made a short film in the past titled ‘Naamkaran’,but ‘Death In A Gunj’ will be my first attempt at directing a feature film." "‘The Lunchbox’ was a terrific film but it still needed the support of Karan Johar as presenter to make it accessible to a wider audience. Ditto ‘Ship Of Theseus’ presented by Kiran Rao. Right now my priority is to make a really good film. I am thankful to NFDC for supporting me," she added. |
