Friday, 19th Sept 2014, 7:49 PM IST When ‘OMG – Oh My God’ director Umesh Shukla roped in former soap queen Smriti Irani for his new film ‘All Is Well’, little did he imagine that she would soon turn Union HRD Minister, which in turn would play havoc with his upcoming film, starring Rishi Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and Asin. Buzz is, the cast has been left waiting for over three months now, as Smriti is busy with her political commitments. A source close to the film said: “80% of the film is complete. But we cannot wrap up the climax without Smriti reporting back on the sets. The makers are in talks with her. But she is yet to allot fresh dates.” Explaining why her presence is essential to the scene, the source said, “There's a car chase in the climax and all four actors – Smriti, Abhishek, Rishi and Asin – are required for it. If we omit her from it, we'll have to re-shoot the entire film as Smriti has a significant part. There is noway we can shoot further without her.” When quizzed about the film's delay, producer Shyam Bajaj's son Varun said, “We are still figuring out Smriti's dates.” |
