Friday, 6th December 4:00 PM IST As per the news coming in, a defamation suit has been filed by Swapna David, executive producer of the Salman Khan starrer 'Kick' against the movie's producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The suit filed seeks just Re. 1 as compensation from Nadiadwala. As per Swapna's suit, Nadiadwala and his team circulated an email dated October 7 to various film personalities suggesting that she "is involved in taking commissions/kickbacks from people who have been paid by the production company for services rendered by them". The suit, filed through her lawyer Ashok Saraogi, says that due to the acts of Nadiadwala and the management of his production company, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd., Swapna "has been made to suffer not only by way of loss of reputation but also morally", as also "mental torture and agony". Swapna was the one who had arranged the shoot of 'Kick' at Glasgow for around nine days. The producers then issued a legal notice to Swapna holding her responsible for the delay in getting Salman's visa. Asked about it, Swapna recently revealed that she suddenly noticed a change in the behaviour of certain people from the film industry towards her. Soon after, she got to know about the defamatory email in circulation. Swapna further added - "I have asked for only Re. 1 as compensation as no one can put a value on character and integrity. The whole episode has been an attempt to malign me so that they could delay payment due to the crew and suppliers in UK." Nadiadwala has not responded to the developments thus far. |
