Lifetime Business & Economics Of JAB TAK HAI JAAN
"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" was released last diwali and film was special for more reasons than one. It was the last film to be directed by legend Late Yash Chopra and had much infamous clash at box office with Ajay Devgn starrer "Son Of Sardaar".
Film went on to become highest grosser ever in UAE and 3rd ever highest groseer overseas. Film also became highest grosser romantic film in India and higest grosser of lead actor Shahrukh Khan. Film lost 5-7 cr to sudden demise of Balasaheb in Mumbai and good 18-20 cr to clash. Still crossing 120cr mark at domestic box office was no mean feat.
Film grossed 79 cr in overseas taking film's total worldwide collections to 201 cr nett. Film also bagged 40 cr satellite rights and 10 cr from home video and music rights. Film earned huge profits for Yash Raj Films in the range of 130 cr.
Even if you deduct Shahrukh Khan's fee in tune of 30 cr still film made 100 cr profits which is huge after all the clash and negativity surrounding the film. Film attained status of Super Hit in India and Blockbuster overseas. It made it loud and clear - Shahrukh Khan still the king of romance and overseas plus Yash Chopra will be missed forever.
