''Bombay Velvet'' released with expectations as it had big cast and huge budget plus critically acclaimed director. But this film proved to be epic disaster at box office. This is probably the biggest flop of recent times.
Film collected below par 16 cr nett plus over weekend and then it went on to collect 22 cr nett in week one which was pathetic. Film has almost finished its run with 25 cr nett lifetime number in India. . Film should have distributor share of 12 cr. Film was disaster in overseas too with 10 cr plus collection and share of 4.50 cr.
Film has 16.50 cr worldwide share and it has earned 44 cr more from other rights. Film has total income around of 60.50 cr and that against the total cost of 105 cr which means loss of 43 % (44.50 cr). This is big setback to Fox Star Studios and Ranbir Kapoor in addition to director Anurag Kashyap.
