Salman Khan celebrated the highest opening day collection ever with his movie Bharat. But, the excitement didn’t last longer and the movie now has been facing downfalls in its collections after the end of the festive season of Eid. The average word of mouth overpowered the pre-release hype of the movie and everything seems to be declining for Bharat which now puts a question mark on the expectations of Bharat to be the Highest Grossing Movie of the Year.
When compared to the box office performance of URI: The Surgical Strike, despite being released on lesser number of screens, URI fared better by collecting 10.51 cr on its first Monday, while Bharat collecting only 9.20 cr, which is a 55% drop from its Sunday collection. Not only Monday, Bharat collections further declined on its first Tuesday when it was able to collect only 8.30 cr, which is again less than what URI collected on its first Tuesday i.e. 9.57 cr.
Now everything depends on how the movie fares during the remaining weekdays, but all eyes are mainly set towards the weekends because that is where the opportunity lies. Will Bharat manage to surpass URI to set the record? Only time will tell.
