BANG BANG Had Huge Extended Week One
It was unarguably the biggest clash at box office of 2014. Two films, of diverse genre and for different target audience, are clashing at box office. It was expected that Hrithik - Katrina starrer ''Bang Bang'' will take a thunderous opening and exactly that is what happened.
Film released in 3350 screens all over India and it did lose some key screens to ''Haider'' in Delhi and Mumbai. Clash has taken away the sheen out of such a huge opening because despite such a response, film will not be able to beat any day one record.
Film has taken an earth shattering start all over. Film is close to 90-95% overall and it is fabulous in Delhi/NCR, Rajasthan and Mysore. Film ran to pack houses from evening onwards and on expected lines it was big in metro and urban centers.Film collected 27.54 cr nett on day one.
Yesterday again film started well and is holding up well in urban centers. Film dropped by 40% from yesterday which is not bad. Film collected 24.08 cr nett on day two which is around 15% drop but that was expected in few pockets. Film started with big numbers that is why drop on Saturday was inevitable. Film dropped in metros and even mass centers did not hold well due to working day in few parts. Film collected 20.10 cr nett on Saturday which was another drop of 20% from previous day.
Film was good today too but film is still under performing in mass belts which is a cause of concern going ahead on weekdays. Film collected 97 lakhs nett in Rajasthan today which is similar to Friday. Film collected 22.41 cr nett on Sunday. Today again film was down by 30% plus in a center like Rajasthan and collected 61 lakhs nett and similar was the trend across the board.
Though going by the weekend trends, film was expected to drop today but surprisingly film held up really well in most of the centers. Film collected 10.31 cr nett on Tuesday which is very good number considering the big weekend numbers. Film collected 15.36 cr nett on Tuesday, 8.23 cr nett on Wednesday and 7.42 cr nett on Thursday which was quite steady.
The film has collected 135.45 cr nett all India in eight days which is a good result despite competition and now 2nd week will decide lifetime business. Film has domestic gross of 193.50 cr plus and overseas total of 57.25 cr thus taking worldwide gross 247 cr plus in 8 days! Film has to cross 175 cr nett week minimum otherwise all holiday benefit will be lost and it will struggle to cross 190-200 cr nett mark.
