Wednesday, 12th March, 1:09 PM Reports say that former India cricketcaptain Sourav Ganguly and Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan are bidding forIndian Super League’s Kolkata Football Franchise.
This League is a joint venture betweenMukesh Ambani and Rupert Murdoch, and is sponsored by IMG-Reliance.
Both Ganguly and Shahrukh have a historywhen it comes to cricket. The actor owns Kolkata Knight Riders – the cricketteam representing Kolkata, and Ganguly was its captain and icon player in thefirst season. He then played for Pune Warriors, India franchise.
Other celebrities who are reportedlyinterested in the Indian Soccer League are Bollywood actors John Abraham andRanbir Kapoor.
The League is set up like the Indian Premier League (IPL)and will have city-based franchise teams. The other cities are Chennai,Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi, Pune, Goa, Guwahati and New Delhi. | |||
