Om Puri Talks About Love Making Scenes In Bollywood Films

Friday, 17th April 2015, 4:20 PM IST Veteran actor Om Puri recently said that he is not happy with the love making scenes in Bollywood. He said that why do our actors wear clothes while doing love making scenes. Puri said, "Firstly, I'd like to say the love-making in our films is really the pits. We Indian actors don't know how to make love on camera. There is so much awkwardness in the body movements. We are all limbs and elbows. It looks very fake and strained." "Where in the world, and how, do people make love with their clothes on? It's ridiculous. If you don't want to show actors without their clothes, then just shoot the faces. There is no point in shooting an unconvincing love scene. I am sorry to say our love-making scenes are highly unaesthetic," he added. Talking about his love making scene in ‘Astha’ with Rekha, Om said, "They could have been done much more aesthetically. Our actors are too conscious of their body to make love scenes look convincing." "In my love-making sequence with Smita Patil in Govind Nihalani's ‘Aakrosh’ Smita wore her saree throughout. But because we were not hesitant to lose our inhibitions the love-making didn't look contrived," the veteran actor added. He further said, "When I make a film it will have the best love-making scene ever shot in our country." Talking about his love making scene with Mallika Sherawat in ‘Dirty Politics’, he said, "Ab agar film ‘Dirty Politics’ hai toh sab kuch dirty hi hoga." He further said that he told the director KC Bokadia to shoot it more sensibly. However, it is said that Mallika didn't co-operate.
