Richa Hoping To Walk The Cannes Red Carpet Again

Friday, 17th April 2015, 4:49 PM IST Richa Chadda had walked the red carprt of Cannes in 2012 when her film ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ was screened at the festival. And now, once again she is hoping to walk the red carpet as her flick ‘Masaan’ has been selected in the festival's Un Certain Regard segment. When she walked the red carper in 2012, the actress had hurt her foot, stuck to foldable ballet flats, slipping into a pair of high heels she'd been carrying in her bag, just a few minutes before she stepped on to the red carpet. "I was a complete novice then, I didn't even know how to pose for the shutterbugs. And I had to sit, starving, through the six hour long film before Anurag (Kashyap) and Guneet (Monga) took us out for a big meal," she said. The actress is hoping to return to the French Riviera with ‘Masaan’. She said, "I was dazzled the first time, this time I'm more equipped to handle the glamour aspect. The producers willing, I'd like to spend more time there looking around, meeting people and partying with my team." The movie is produced by Phantom Films and brings back many of the ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ team. Director Neeraj Ghaywan and her co-star Vicky Kaushal, were an assistant director on the earlier film. "‘Masaan’ is made on a modest budget with no allowances for a personal make-up man or hairdresser. But this is what I work for-passion for cinema," Richa said. "It's encouraging that films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘The Lunchbox’ and ‘Masaan’ are introducing the audience for world cinema to Indian films. I'm really proud of my immensely gifted team who are unaware of their genius and producers who believed in the film and us. It's overwhelming," she added.
