Saturday, 19th April 2014, 06:30 PM IST Actor Sharib Hashmi is surely climbing the ladder of success. The actor who played Shahrukh Khan's Pakistani roommate in Yash Chopra's ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ will now be seen in a lead role in ‘Filmistaan’.
A source informed, “The film is set as a laugh riot about a film buff who wants to become an actor in Bollywood, only to find himself being held hostage by Pakistani terrorists. It is a hilarious affair because in any given circumstance, this man unleashes the Bollywood side of him.”
“Incidentally, the film was ready when ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ released and had even been through film festivals. During last year and a half, it has traveled globally and fetched quite a few awards for itself, including a National Award." The source further added, "This is when UTV spotted the film and decided to pick it up for release.” Sharib has given his utmost best to this film. It is heard that when Sharib auditioned for the part, the makers of the film were highly impressed by his performance and he was immediately roped in. |
