Saturday, 23rd August, 2014, 05:25 PM IST Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra is currently busy casting for his adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chatopadhyay’s novel ‘Devdas’. His film is tentatively titled ‘Aur Devdas’ and it is learnt that actress Richa Chadda will be playing the role of Paro in the film.
Sudhir was said to be keen on casting Aditi Rao Hydari for the role of the other lead Chandramukhi but now it seems that he has decided against it. Apparently the film that was supposed to be an adaptation of ‘Devdas’ has undergone certain changes, and Sudhir himself feels that the new script does not do justice to the actress; hence, he has advised her not to take up the project.
Aditi confirmed the news saying, “Yes, Sudhir sir and I were in conversation for a film on Devdas, where I was supposed to play Chandramukhi. However, the nature of his film has changed now and within the current setup, he feels that the part does not do justice to me. I would do a film with Sudhir Mishra in a heartbeat; after all, it's because of him that I am here.” Meanwhile,Sudhir praised Aditi saying, “I am very proud of Aditi. She is one of the most fantastic actresses of this generation with a lot of untapped potential. We are not working together on my current film. Instead, I am working on something special for her that will bring out the best in her.” |
