Tuesday, 15th July 2014, 04:00 PM IST All the Rekha fans will have to wait with bated breath for a while before the legendary actress returns to the silver screen with her upcoming flick ‘Super Nani’ in which she plays a hip and happening grandma.
The film, which was supposed to release in April, has been delayed because director Indra Kumar wanted to re-shoot certain portions of the film. A source close to the development said, “At least 20 days worth of footage had to be reshot with Rekha and the other actors. Induji wanted to add better comic punches to the dialogue.”
The filmmaker is re-introducing his daughter Shwetha in the film, who made her debut a few years ago with Himesh Reshammiya’s ‘Karzzzz’. The film’s financer Bharat Shah said that the decision to reshoot was taken by Kumar; however, rumour has it that Rekha wanted tore-shoot some scenes with which she wasn’t happy.
However, Kumar denied the news saying, “No,as Bharat bhai said, the decision was mine. I had reshot portions of ‘Dil’,‘Raja’, and ‘Beta’ too. More recently, I did it for ‘Grand Masti’. All went onto become big hits.”
He further added that he also shot another song for the film. He explained, “The film's composer Harshit gave me a new song which I thought was better than the one I had previously filmed.” The film will now release on August 29. |
