Detailed Analysis:
Fresh lead pair and romantic films always create a kind of anticipation among audience. Recently 'Heropanti' proved successful at box office despite new cast and now new entrant form 'kapoor khaandaan' is ready to try his luck in dream land. Film has very obvious and routine storyline. A carefree and uselss kind of guy Dinesh Nigam (Armaan Jain) is wasting his time in college and his group of friends consists of one charming girl Karishma Shetty (Deeksha Seth). Then as expected, they fall in love one day while drinking in a bar in SoBo (South Mumbai). In order to stop Karishma's marriage to a boring guy, Dinesh marries Karishma and then they elope. They travel through Goa, Nagpur and Raipur to naxal areas. They end up fighting with each other and ultimately get caught while traveling on bus. How they realize their love during the process of dissolving their marriage forms the rest of 2nd half. Performance wise Armaan Jain is very honest and though he does not display great looks like Varun Dhawan or great acting skills like his cousin Ranbir but still he manages to hold it together with his upfront act. Deeksha looks mature in front of camera as she had good experience down south. She makes an impressive debut as she looks good and can act well even in emotional scenes. Kumud Mishra as Armaan's father is outstanding but other supporting cast is simply fills the blanks. Music is big minus as there are too many songs yet not a single one registers. Almost 7-8 songs leave one exhausted and even poorer background score adds to the misery. Camerawork is amazing and almost every shot looks perfect. Art work is decent and so is editing except climax which goes on and on. Writing is completely inspired from Imtiaz Ali and that is so obvious when director is his younger brother. 'Jab We Met' style eloping episode and 'Socha Na Tha' style confusion surrounding marriage look repetitive. But it is debut director Arif Ali who tries his best to borrow from his brother's school of romance but he fails to reach those depth. Characters look so caricatures that no one cares whether they meet or not in the end. Shallow approach and forced formula spoil this tale despite a good lead pair. Film will release tomorrow and should get decent release across 1200 screens. Film will get some competition from Hollywood's 'The Fault In Our Stars' and Bollywood release 'Bobby Jasoos'. Still film should open with some initials due to presence of star kid . But still film will find it tough to score over weekend considering mediocre content and flop music.
