Wednesday, 23rd July 2014, 05:45 PM IST Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Mary Kom’ will be showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival in its world premiere. The organisers announced the news yesterday that the festival, which will take place between September 4 and 14, will feature the film which is based on the life of boxer M.C. Mary Kom. "Glamorous Indian star Priyanka Chopra completely transforms herself to play Mary Kom, world champion in women's boxing. From traditional village life in remote Manipur state to high-stakes bouts in India and around the world, this is a remarkable story of triumph. The film will have its world premiere at TIFF," the organizers said in a statement. ‘Mary Kom’ is directed by Omung Kumar and was made with the support of the five-time World Champion boxer Mary Kom. Priyanka spent long hours learning techniques, stance and style from the boxer to play her role in the film. The movie is slated to release in theatres on September 5.
