Thursday, 17th July 2014, 04:30 PM IST After singing in films like ‘Kahaani’ (Ekla Chalo), Amitabh Bachchan will be singing in his next film directed by R. Balki. Amitabh has previously worked with R. Balki in the super hit film ‘Paa’ where he sang a song titled ‘Mere Paa’ and impressed the director.So impressed was R. Balki that he decided to give Amitabh the chance to croon a song for his latest film, ‘Shamitabh’. Talking about the experience, Bachchan wrote on his blog saying, "Yes another session with Aadesh at his music studio did result in another song that I had to sing for 'Shamitabh' ... the finest quality of music from the genius of Ilaiyaraja, the magician from Chennai." Amitabh previously worked with Ilaiyaraaja in ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Paa’. Big B claims that he is a fan of the musician,saying, "How many years have passed since his emergence and how till today his prominence continues. The veteran, the master, who nurtured some very special musicians. In his orchestra team was a certain AR Rehman that played an instrument in an assemble. Ilaiyaraja, was asked to write a symphony for the London Philharmonic some years ago. He wrote it without actually hearing the sound of it. And when he went to the Albert Hall in London for the performance of it by the Philharmonic he heard his own written symphony for the first time,and broke down into tears! He had not known the depth of his construct till then..." ‘Shamitabh’ stars Big B along with south superstar Dhanush and also marks the debut of Kamal Haasan's younger daughter, Akshara Haasan.
