Saturday, 27th Sept 2014, 5:11 PM IST Tigmanshu Dhulia had announced a film titled ‘Yaara’ starring Irrfan Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Amit Sadh, Vidyut Jammwal and Shruti Haasan. The film will be set in two time periods; one when the characters would be in their mid-20’s and another when the characters would be in their mid-40’s. Amit and Vidyut were going to play the younger characters and Irrfan and Manoj were going to play the older ones. However, a few days back Manoj opted out of the film and nowit is learnt that the makers of the film have also decided that Irrfan will also not be a part of the film. It is said that the makers have decided that both young and old characters will be played by Amit and Vidyut only. When Irrfan was asked about it he said that he is still in the project and Tigmanshu was going to get back to him about the same. But, Sunir Kheterpal, the co-producer of the film confirmed the news and said, "Before starting the first schedule in Dehradun in June, the makers took the call to cast the same actors to play different ages as it would have a better connect with the audience. A 20-year age gap does not warrant casting different actors for the same characters." Talking about Sunir’s statement, Irrfan said, "If Tishu is going with another actor he must have strong reasons for doing so. The decision will not come in the way of our friendship. It's not a given that I have to work in every film he does or vice versa. We have never commercialised our friendship." |
