Thursday, 19th June 2014, 03:50 PM IST Sidharth Malhotra has his hands full. In less than a month, the actor has to beef up considerably for Karan Johar’s Indian adaptation of ‘Warriors’ in which he plays a boxer. Sidharth said, “I reprise Tom Hardy's character, a boxer, in the Hindi version. It's become another filmal together, darker and more dramatic, much like Karan's treatment of his directorial debut ‘Agneepath’.”
Sidharth has already started training in kickboxing and wrestling. He further stated, “Karan has told me that I need to look physically aggressive and put on weight. It's going to be a strenuous regime.” However, at the end of the year, he will have to shed all the mass he painfully gained to slip into the character of ‘Bhavesh Joshi’, Vikramaditya Motwane's vigilante drama. On being asked if he plays a Gujrati superhero in the film, Sid said, “No. Bhavesh Joshi is just a name. He is a regular, middle-class Mumbaikar who assumes another nocturnal identity and becomes a masked crusader out to protect the city, like Batman and Gotham. He doesn't have any superpowers, only skills.” He further added, “I'm a super herobuff, I'm biased towards Spiderman.” |
