Watch it for couple of good songs and beautiful locales
Detailed Analysis:
Once a film becomes a sleeper hit then it is followed by similar films for some time in Hindi film industry. After modest success of 'Yaariyan', brace yourself for some more similar heartless college romance and 'Purani Jeans' is one such film. Film has plot which is unintentionally funny and cliche. A rich guy Sam (Aditya Seal) who has bloody every problem in life. Divorcee mother whose 2nd husband is having extra martial affair and she is alcoholic. But then she shifts to coffee in the end suddenly when all is well! Sam finds his girlfriend Nayantara Sapru (Izabelle Leite) (what a name of the character!) in tight hug with his best friend Sid (Tanuj Virwani) but does not allow girlfriend to explain that it was only a hug dumbo! His poor friend (he is from poor background though that is not visible from his costumes) Sid was hugging his girlfriend because her sister was pregnant (she makes love and her sister gets pregnant, what a shame!). Then all of sudden one friend commits suicide and triangle love story is there to test patience with some real predictable shots towards climax.
Editing was not sharp enough but cinematography was amazing which captures Kasauli like never before. Couple of good songs but then too many in the film simply work as loo break. Writing is so pathetic that one wonders how anyone survived those narrations. But the real culprit is director Tanushri who simply leaves the onus on newcomers that too backed by a badly written script. Film will release tomorrow and should get 700 plus screens. Film will get quite a stiff competition from last week's hit '2 States' and new releases of this week from Hollywood juggernaut 'The Amazing Spiderman 2'. Film should open with modest numbers and will need good word of mouth to survive at box office which is the only hope for the film!
