Tuesday, 13th May 2014, 04:10 PM IST Ekta Kapoor’s latest flick, ‘Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi’ ran into some trouble due to the title of the film recently. Apparently, NL Mathur, a Bhopal resident has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against her production house objecting the title because he felt that it has hurt sentiments of the Kayastha community. A source says, “In his petition, this person named NL Mathur, who is a resident of Bhopal, has said that the word “jhand” is derogatory and it will hurt the sentiments of Mathurs from the Kayastha community. He has asked the filmmakers to change name of the film or remove the offensive word from the title.” When contacted, Tanuj Garg, CEO of Ekta’s production house, said, “No such PIL has been served to us till date. We have just heard about this in the media. The film title relates to normal and standard nomenclature used in the country. It has been approved and registered by our film association. We are surprised to hear about this.”
