Saturday, 10th May 2014, 06:30 PM IST Actor-turned producer Sanjay Kapoor has scheduled the release of his debut production, ‘Tevar’, with Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinhaon December 5. This has pitted the movie in direct competition with Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Bombay Velvet’ and Aamir Khan starrer ‘P.K.’
While Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ will hit screens on November 28, Raju Hirani’s ‘P.K.’ will release two weeks after Sanjay’s ‘Tevar’.
But Sanjay is not worried. He says,“Both, Ranbir and Aamir, are big stars, and I know their films are due for release around the same time as mine. But I only hope that each one of us delivers a super hit film.”
The actor-turned-film-maker further adds, “You can’t make a movie and release it while feeling threatened. You have to be confident about your film. But the business gets affected only if the movies are released on the same day, since the audience gets shared. If the film is good, it will run. There will be a film before you and there will be one after you too. There was a time when people used to say that no film should release during IPL, but ‘2 States’ came during that time and did big business.”
Sanjay also confirmed that he has acquired the rights to the Rishi and Neetu Kapoor starrer, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ (1975). “I will be casting established young actors, but haven’t decided the names yet. I will start working on the project soon,”says he. |
