Wednesday, 14th May 2014, 04:20 PM IST Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming film ‘Piku’ has a very formidable star cast with legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, and Bollywood’s reining queen Deepika Padukone. Now, another big name has joined the list. It is heard that Bangla superstar Jisshu Sengupta has been taken aboard to play the male lead opposite Deepika.
Jisshu made his Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi’, where he played actress Ileana D’cruz’s husband. He will also be seen in Pradeep Sarkar’s Rani Mukherji-Chopra starrer ‘Mardaani’ where he will play Rani’s husband.
Jisshu confirmed the news saying, “It's a big break with a director I really admire and with actors I really love. It has been my dream to work with Mr. Bachchan from the time I decided I wanted to bean actor. Irrfan ji is another actor I truly admire. As for Deepika, isn't she everyone's favourite dream girl these days?” The Bangla heartthrob will travel to Mumbai in August to start shooting for ‘Piku’. |
