Detailed Analysis:
Sabbir Khan made his debut with big budget 'Kambakkht Ishq' but that proved to be a disappointment. Now he is making a comeback with newcomers contrary to his debut flick but bigger responsibility of launching star kid. Film is placed in north India. In a village in Haryana, a powerful Jaat leader Chaudhary (Prakash Raj) has two daughters, Renu (Sandeepa Dhar) and Dimpy (Kriti Sanon). Renu elopes with his boyfriend Rajesh the night she was about to get married. Her uncles and a full army of goons start searching for couple. They kidnap three best friends of Rajesh in order know couple's whereabouts. One of Rajesh's friend Babloo (Tiger Shroff) gives them hard time with few real breathtaking stunts but they manage to capture all three friends. Babloo falls in love at first sight with Dimpy but she doesn't knwo her name, address or contact details. As soon as they see each other its interval time. Post interval is full of twists and turns with real entertainment comes from Prakash Raj. How 'hero' gets his 'heroine' forms the climax.
Editing is crisp in 1st half but 2nd half takes ages to get over especially the last 30 minutes and that is why 2 hour 26 minutes running time looks 10-15 minutes too long (attempted rape scene was avoidable and so was long confrontation dialogue of Prakash Raj with her daughter Sandeepa Dhar). Cinematography is brilliant but art work leaves lot to be desired. Writing is inconsistent where dialogues are outstanding but screenplay leaves you asking for more especially at the end when film goes in DDLJ mode. Climax could had been better with a bit more action. Special mention for background score which uses signature tune of 'Hero' very smartly. But yes its director Sabbir Khan who makes a comeback with a film which will not only give industry a new star but also a hit product at box office. He cleverly weaves smart angles and twists in the film and provides full dose of typical Bollywood entertainment. Film will release tomorrow and should get good release across 1800-1900 screens. Film will get moderate competition from Hollywood release 'X Men' and Rajnikanth starrer 'Kochadaiyaan'. Film should open with big initials due to hit music and anticipation for star kid and film will get very good numbers over weekend. Film is made on shoe string budget of around 20 cr and that is why even a decent weekend will take it to safe zone.
