Wednesday 21st May 2014, 04:30 PM IST Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor is geared up forhis next film that hits the floor in July. He is currently on a recce in Rajasthan. The filmmaker revealed, “It is a film revolving around two young children witha fablesque element of magic. The idea emerged from a conversation about ablind boy and his sister and the image of a film came together just like that!Thereafter, the story evolved organically.”
Nagesh is on the hunt for the perfect cast,“I know it's a tough task and have already started what promises to be a reallylong audition process. For ‘Rockford’ I screen-tested 500 kids and had 100 ofthem on tape. For this one, I already have 150 kids on tape. But I'm confidentof soon finding my eight-year-old protagonist and his 10-year-old sister whosets off with him on a journey across Rajasthan with the promise that before heturns nine he will get his eyesight back,” said the director. He feels that Rajasthan is one of the few placesin India which gives a sense of visual drama. Its desert has been the backdropof many stories. “Yesterday when I sat down with the team I realised that wehave listed close to 60 locations for this road film. I'll shoot it with myusual aggression, which is a start to finish 32-day schedule,” he says. |
