Thursday, 16th Oct 2014,1:35 PM IST Last year, David Dhawan made the remake of Sai Paranjpye's ‘Chashme Buddoor’. And now, one more, Sai Paranjpye flick will be remade. Sai’s ‘Katha’ which was released in 1983, will be remade and it will be directed by Khalid Mohamed. Anjum Rizvi, who is putting together the project, said that ‘Katha’ will be upgraded as it has to fit the audiences of 2015. However, the storyline of the movie will be the same. He said, "We don't intend to play around with the story or commercialise it. It will be true to its tortoise and hare story line." He revealed that the idea of making the remake of ‘Katha’ came when he and Khalid were working on another film. He said, "Sai is Khalid's friend and when he sounded her out she was very keen, though she made it clear that she would not direct the film. The story, screenplay and dialogue are by Sai and updated by Khalid." The movie is expected to go on floors in December and the casting process is going on. The original film starred Naseeruddin Shah, Farooq Shaikh and Deepti Naval. Talking about the cast, Rizvi said, "This time too the focus is on getting good actors on board rather than stars." ‘Katha’ was shot in a chawl and even the remake will be shot in a chawl. Anjum said, "Chawls still exist in Mumbai but the people living there have changed in the last three decades. Their lifestyle and attitudes are very different today and the modern ‘Katha’ will reflect this."
