Friday, 16th August 7:00 PM IST These days’ movies have started getting satellite deals settled even before the release of the film. Legal battle erupts between the two producers of the film over satellite rights. However, Sonam and Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Mausam’ is back in the news 2 years after its release. The film produced by Sheetal Talwar of Religare Enterprises and Eros Entertainment is now at the centre of a legal wrangle with Sheetal accusing others of selling the satellite rights of the movie without his consent or knowledge. Recently, Sheetal saw the film playing on Doordarshan and confronted Sunil Lulla, the Managing Director of Eros and Doordarshan for more information. According to Sheetal, "That is when I came to know that Eros had licensed the telecast rights of ‘Mausam’ to a third party, Goldmine Telefilms, for a meager sum of 12 lakh. Goldmine telefilms then sold the satellite rights to Doordarshan." Sheetal has sent a legal notice to Eros, Goldmine and Doordarshan asking them to make known to him all agreements between the three parties and a telecast apology from Doordarshan. According a spokesperson from Eros, "The matter is sub judice before the sole arbitrator. We will deal with this with an appropriate response."
