Saturday, 19th April 2014, 04:50 PM IST Karan Johar’s Emraan Hashmi-starrer ‘Ungli’ ran into serious trouble when Sanjay Dutt’s portion had to be shot at the time of his surrender. It is heard that there were some creative differences between Karan and the film’s editor Shirish Kunder.
The film was slated to hit the screens along with ‘Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’ but its release was postponed. A source close to the project said, “The film was expected to release in 2013, but producer Karan Johar apparently delayed it in order to give breathing space to ‘Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’. It was then supposed to release in May 2014, but it was once again delayed, after Sajid Nadiadwala requested KJo to make way for the former’s film, ‘Heropanti’. Johar has now agreed to his request, so ‘Ungli’ is now expected to release on November 7.” However, another source informed, “Karan saw the film after it was re-edited, and he was not happy with the scenes featuring Sanjay Dutt.” Which of these stories is true, is still a mystery! |
